Wind farms suffer from insufficient wind

Interesting article here saying that many UK wind farms are only producing 25-30% of the electricity expected of them, as "it's not windy enough" where they are sited. This is likely to seriously impact the UK Government's renewables targets, and possibly reflected over-subsidy. One solution might be to locate wind farms offshore where wind is more predictable.

On the other hand, perhaps we should think a bit more closely about the wisdom of trying to beat climate change by using a technology that's so dependent on (clearly changing) weather patterns....
